About Nanny Marta

Hi Everyone,

Thank you for visiting my website! My name is Marta aka Nanny! I am the owner of Nanny's House Childcare and Preschool of Music, Art, Technology, and Science. Here you will learn about my approach to early learning.

I like to think of myself as the real-life Miss Frizzle from the Scholastic's animated series "Magic School Bus". I bring educational moments to life. I ignite my student’s curiosity and imaginations. The educational journey is limitless in my classroom. I plant seeds and watch them grow. supporting them to not give up and take their first steps literally and figuratively.  I am a vocalist and I love to sing in my personal and professional life. I'm an inspiring not so great guitar plunker nevertheless kids love to dance as I strum clumsily. Music is a language that brings educational moments to life. I use music and visual aid to stir up preschooler’s senses, emotions turning words into images and colors which trigger preschooler’s imaginations. Songs are extraordinary learning tools in my classroom. Music provides a safe, predictable place to practice skills; songs make teachable moments fun! I use many traditional educational tools and new innovative tools when creating my curriculum. I foster a growth mindset supporting the whole child and family approach to early childhood education.

The Reggio Emilia philosophy serves as a guideline in my program. Nanny's House program is based on the principles of respect, responsibility, and community through exploration and discovery through a self-guided curriculum. The aim of the Reggio approach is to teach how to use these symbolic languages of learning (e.g., painting, sculpting, drama, music) in everyday life. However, I do not limit myself to one philosophy and pull from a collaborative knowledge baseline of many early learning practices. Each child is an individual that requires an open mind when supporting their individual needs. Nanny's House merely serves as a sanctuary vessel so children are able to approach their learning at their own pace.

Nanny's House is a safe place for preschool age children and infants to developmentally gain the social-emotional skills to thrive throughout their education journey as active learners. I have been professionally working with children as young as six weeks to adolescents. All of my extensive experience working with children has been incorporated in Nanny’s House. During college, I served as an in-home Nanny. I then served in center-based environments. I furthered my education in Early Childhood Education with an emphasis in behavior studies and community service at  Metropolitan State College of Denver. I continually study ECE philosophy keeping updated on transforming techniques and safety information so I can build a strong foundation that fosters a child's love for learning. This is their very first schoolhouse. ECE training is a life practice and evolving craft. I love gaining more tools to support students, families and team members.

Opening Nanny’s House Preschool is a dream come true. I am humbled and blessed to serve this community.  My passion for nurturing children and families is my purpose and how I make a difference. Serving growing families, and growing my team of educators is my Ikigai. I could not run a successful program without the support of an amazing team that shares the passion for early childhood education. Each team member brings their special talents turning this program into a collaborative masterpiece that we all are pouring our best selves into each day.  Together we create a safe loving school house for little ones to sing, dance, play, learn, grow and discover at their own pace. It takes a village to raise children and every village needs a Nanny’s House.
